Pre Christmas News

Update time again!

First of all a big get well soon to Nicky G who has done his knee in whilst filming for Dutch MTV after incredible performances at events in europe this year. Stirrups was crowned Dutch, Belgian and German champion! Well done bud! Get well soon!

Goodluck to Rhys and his girlfriend Sarah who fled the UK a few days ago to start a snowboard season in Saalbach, Austria. Everyone back here is very jealous! Dont come back in a hurry guys, its pretty nice here without you!

Team dad Joe Jones was recently spotted in Tamworth Snowdome with an entourage of BFC children, he even bought us all chips! cheers for the day out dad!

Jack has been busy editing insane amounts of footage, editing of the the DVD is well underway so a trailer should be winging its way onto the intertubes soon for your viewing enjoyment!

Happy birthday to Steve Cownie! After being 12 years old for the past 6 years hes finally turned 18! This picture may or may not have been taken at his birthday party.

Heres a picture of a walrus.

Thats about it! Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!

BFC People Articles

We have just updated a few of the BFC People profiles with some new articles that are all completly different from one another and aim to give you an insight into the different personalites behind different BFC people!

Just scroll down on each riders page and each riders article starts right after their profile.

There’s an article by Dave Compton about doing your own thing. Check it out here!

Theres an interview with Jack Johnston which will tell you more about the man behind the lens plus a few tips from the man himself. Check it out here!

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woollen mittens, brown paper packages tied up with string, these are a few of my favorite things. Find out more about a few of Martyns favourite things by checking this out right here!

There would be a great article about planning and organisation by Turner but he never showed up for the interview, there isnt really anything to check out here.

Every BFC rider will have an article up shortly and if you have a peek at each rider profile you can get an idea of what each rider might be saying! Keep checking back for updates!

An Update

Just to keep you intertubes folk in the loop heres a simple update to tell ya’ll what were up to right now, we are reaaaal busy, we’re sorting out sponsorship, distribution and Jack is awfully busy editing footage for a little DVD that will be coming your way in 2008.

The DVD will be given away free of charge at all good mountainboard centres and shops aswell as with our sponsors products.

How about that ay? A freeeeee DVD full of some of the best mountainboarding in the world right now featuring all of the BFC aswell as sections from Tom Kirkman, Aj Lawson and Joe Dickson. The Intro is nearly finished and it looks so great, it’s amazingly hard to not show the world but you are just going to have to wait!

Anyone for chicken?

busy busy at the Bugs Bash!

Well with it being november we were all a bit nervous as to wether the end of season party at Bugs Boarding was going to be a complete washout, y’kno one of those days with lots of rain and no mountainboarding?

Luckily we were wrong and we were blessed with a great day with a fair bit of sunshiiiine, no rain and a few high fives from a very happy Martyn James who travelled all the way down from scotland for a bit of that sweeeeeet mountainboarding action!

Aparantly the journey was worth it for Martyn who threw down some super sick heeby jeeby frontside 360 twists grabbing his deck with a cheeky slob grab (thats what we call a mute grab in a frontside spin kids!) Unlike me, Dave Compton probably doesnt care what grabs are called as he was only there at the Bugs Bash to eat, eat, eat and sleep, sleep, sleep though there is evidence that Dave did do a bit of boxing on one of the lovely features at Bugs.

This very same box found itself subject to a bit of loving from the Scottish Stalwart Martyn McJames who threw down some lovely tech MJ Sliders all the way along the box. “Hang about. Rewind! MJ Sliders?” I hear you say “Yeah bro’s and brosette’s that’s where i ride along on two wheels and look like the original MJ, Michael Jackson” Martyn replies “and for added effect i like to sing thriller, billie jean or the earth song in full before i hit that rail and show it some disco steeze”.

So by now we’ve established that Billie Jean is not my lover and that Martyn James loves cool tricks. One of the similarities he shares with uk champion and devon trickster Ollie Morrisson who got all fancy with a perfect corked backside 720 over the huge second jump at Bugs. Superrr Smoooth!

Another Devonshire big timer; Laurie Barnes showed up with a few birds and a biiiig bit of roast beef and then proceded to shred the whole of Bugs Boarding while we watched on in awe as he rocked it with his gangster steez and hip hop tea towel, there to cover a cold sore according to the man himself, there to make him look cool and to dry his cups if you ask us…

With it being November it was pretty cold and it was the bearsuit which kept me warm but our friend Wiggy showed up on his way home from work wearing only his suit and tie, look, He even brought his briefcase!

Eventually the day had to come to a close and we finished with a bit of team training.

teammmm traininnng!

And that was pretty much it, the night went on with a nice camp fire, a sweet mini ramp session, fireworks and a trip snowboarding for the bfc!

Surprise, surprise another great day at Bugs Boarding which keeps getting better every time, check out their website at www.bugsboarding.co.uk big thanks to Bugs, AJ and all the team who made it happen!

All pictures above courtesy of www.crillpix.com mountainboardings premier photography website!

The video footage from the day will be featuring in the BFC’s next full length DVD release coming May 2008. Keep your eyes peeled for more info…

Compo’s Compo

Could Dave Compton actually be Britains craziest student?

Decide for yourself by watching this.

Watch this as many times as you can and you could send dave to a far away land for 16 days! how about that? lots of laughs for you and a few peaceful days for the UK! Winner!!!

Andre Laroche

Sadly good friend and one of Uk mountainboardings biggest charachters passed away last weekend, as most of you will know Andre Laroche loved mountainboarding and over the past few years his riding developed amazingly and he always had an amazing attitude towards competitions, mountainboarding and life itself.

Andre, it was a pleasure to ride with you and all of your mountainboarding family in the uk is going to miss you. Rest In Peace.

Smooose!

The bugs bash turned out ot be a great event, big thanks to all those who came on saturday from everyone at bugs boarding, so soiled crew, mbs europe and of course the bfc!

number plates and pro demos
